Adeu O Desie of Delight, ein in seiner Zeit berühmtes Lied, war kennzeich- nend für den Hof König Jakobs VI. Als eines aus einer Anzahl von Gedichten zu der “Helicon stanza” (Heliconstrophe, ein metrisches Schema) ist das Lied von Andro Blackhall der Melodie The Nine Muses zugeordnet, die auch zu anderen wichtigen Gedichten nach dieser Stro- phenform passte, wie z. B. The Banks of Helicon und The Cherrie and the Slae. O lustie May vollendet die Reise, die wir am Anfang dieses Programms angetreten haben, mit einem Mailied und chansons des französisch inspi- rierten Hofs.
